Link to facebook page if this is true. Dates looking like 11th & 12th August.

Top fella Matt for finding this!
The sooner dates for any European shows are announced the better so I can sort options with my boy and arrange things with his Mum. Have been talking seriously about a 2 week plus trip to the South of France in his summer hols, but other events could well change things.
Was a great show in 2010, no reason to think this one will be any different!!!
Either way, have a shed load of jobs to do on the bus before going too far........

Yes mate will be booking this up as soon as the tickets come out. Can't wait the last Euro show was awesome, be good to catch up again. Got lots to do before myself including getting married and the London Marathon. Not to mention plenty of jobs on the van. Bring it on!!!

Matt,

Facebook page, or even the bug show website don't give you much info. http://www.vwbugshow.be/

Is this just a track day?

I assume not, but do you have any details of what goes on over the weekend?

Would love to drive round the track, but need to know if there is enough going on to take the family for the weekend?

A trip to Spa sounds cool though.

Cheers,

Simon

mi2itsdl,

its a weekend show, theres a parade of the vws around the racetrack (sunday i think) but its very slow, good fun though.

i did get some max speed (not that fast) laps in one year, and it cost nothing, and did as many as we wanted, not sure if thats still available.

lots of different vws on show, makes a change from the uk stuff.

if your taking family beware the evening entertainment is quite adult based, beer contest and strip shows :D

one of the best euro shows imo.

Sounds pretty cool tbh!, and like the sound of the entertainment!

Think me and another friend are planning to go, Im guessing there will be a fair bit of interest on here when more details are announced.

Very much want to drive up 'eau rouge'!!! 8)

I presume they doubt the ability of ancient Volkswagens to make it up such a steep slope, the lap is done in the opposite direction so you drive downhill at the end of the lap.......

Still, cracking event in a wonderful setting. Seeing as it falls nicely in the school summer holidays, am hoping to make Spa fit in the middle of a 10 to 12 day holiday/road trip. I'm thinking the south of France is a bit far given time and money restrictions, maybe next year.

So, who's seriously considering going? :D

We have the tunnel tickets booked already. Thursday 9th @ 17:20 back Monday 13th 18:20

2 other vans heading there with us.

So, it is 17 weeks away and that sounds a long time, but if I'm to build a new interior, build a new 1776, fit that and the 1303 gearbox and sort all the inevitable niggles, then I need to crack on. (yeah, like that's gonna happen.... )

Expect to see you before then Matt, maybe swap numbers and the first there save some space?

Anyone else thinking about this trip, well worth the effort in my opinion :D

Went to book this yesterday, and there is no link on the website to book tickets. It tells you how much they are, but nothing to click on to book. Does anyone know if there is an issue with the website, or is the show now fully booked????

Was looking forward to this one.

It's a fair old trek there and back in a weekend mate, did it 2 years ago but this time am working to have a few days either side of the show and make a holiday of it. The plans are good, just need to get the bus ready for it!

Not been to this show before, can you rock up the Thursday before the show and get camped onsite like at EBI?

I've had word from one of the organisers that camping is available from Thursday to Monday, so no worries there then.
Ferry booked for 8am Thursday.

Stanford Hall next weekend then just 6 weeks,.... yes just six weeks until Spa
'New' engine not yet fully stripped let alone re-built, 1303 'box still in the shed etc, etc. Oh, and bank balance looking worse than horrific. Going to be a bit of a last minute decision to go or not, both me and the boy will be very sad if it's a 'non'. :|

Edit; just looked at ferry crossings. Normally book months in advance and pay less than £40, this is coming out at least double, £80 exactly. Bugger. Thats outbound Tues 7th - 16.00hrs, return Weds 15th - 08.00hrs so you would not think prime crossing times.

Edit 2; now looked at show ticket prices, 37 euros for the bus and 16 euros each for me and my boy since he is over 12 yrs of age. 69 euros, thats about £65 along with the £200 or so for petrol (nudging 800 mile round trip).
£345 so far before another couple of nights camping, so realistically looking at £600 or so including food, beer etc.
Not so bad for a weeks holiday for 2 people, just got to hope the work continues and equally that the invoices get paid promptly :?

How you getting on with all the work on the van Pete? I am sure that 1776 will be in and running! ;)

Not doing so good Matt, in fact pretty rubbish really! After a brief burst of energy starting to strip the engine, have stalled totally and not touched it since....
Very reluctantly I have had to scrap the whole Spa/Euro trip idea. The bus may just about be up to it but my bank balance isn't, the first five months of the year brought hardly any income and although things are a lot better now it will take a while to recover financially. I'm really dissapointed and my boy is not best pleased with me either!
Have a great time mate, be sure to take plenty of pics for us all to see ;)

Ah that's a great shame Pete was looking forward to a catch up. Hope things pick up work wise. Who else is going to Spa then? Any of the crew from last years ebi going?
