see if its still attched to the n/s frt grease cap on the hub, should be held in with a split pin. If you just have a small square hole in the middle of the grease cap it has slipped back.

Hi!

Mine packed in a few weeks back - so the cable is fitted to the hub?? I though it was on the gearbox? Like most things?
Is it the same on a LHD bus? - not ventured much under mine - not had it that long......

It makes no difference LHD or RHD the drive is t5aken from the LH front wheel. It's just the cable is a different length. On early versions the cable was retained in the grease cap with a circlip. It that is intact the check that the cable is still connected to the speedo. It's all in your manual.

You may find the square hole has become rounded.

It had on my bus, so I secured it with a (very tiny) blob of weld until I find another grease cap - a sharp tap with a hammer will undo it if I ever need to.

sorry to jump on, but why would my speedo be 20 mph out of the speed that i'm doing???? is it my cable??
regards
marcher :?:

Tyre size? As the speedo is driven from the LH front wheel your choice of tyre and profile will affect your speedo. It may all look cool but it throws the speedo out.

try this if your running non standard wheels/tyres....
