Its is here 'The time of the Early Bay'

well not quite that amazing but went and filled up at Sainsburys tonight and the advert they have on the nozzels is a pic of an early bay and not a pic of a splitt for once.

See we are being recognised

Sssshhh. Not so loudly, if we keep it on the QT we will avoid all the excess and crap associated with our older, rustier, positive cambered, uncomfortable, slow, leaky brethren.

:D David

youre right - quite a number of bays now turning up in adverts (even one in that childrens programme Nina's numbers or something -even though its not early !)

If it's the same pic as on the banners inside the supermarket then it looks more like one of the Danbury watercooled ones as it has a |||||| grill.

we too sold our split to buy our early bay, and it's great when you see ad's featuring bays as opposed to the perhaps more recognisable splits.......however.....

splits are without doubt gorgeous buses in their own right, and I firmly believe that it's important not to knock either the vehicle or the fellow VW people whatever they drive, be it splits, type 3's, karmann ghias, bays, whatever.

don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that this is a 'moan' thread, but lots of SSVC forum users also browse this forum and visa versa. You will find lots of early bay fans on the SSVC forum, and also lots of 'bus' people who are lucky enough to own both a bay and a split.

I used to be one of those lucky ones but not anymore.....

our decision to sell the split (and our late bay at the same time...) was partly financial, partly practical, it's horses for courses really. For us as a family the early bay suits our needs and wants much more.

We love our early bay but we also love all VW's.....don't get me started on type 3 squarebacks, I'd love one of those!

anyway I'll go and put my soapbox away now guys and girls.....ahem...

have a great bank holiday everyone, whatever you drive.....
