1971, matching numbers Dormobile project.

Hey all,

We at Classic Volks have just picked up this early bay Dormobile. The plan is to put it all back original as it’s matching numbers, lots of work to do and an interior to find (along with other bits). Will try and keep updating the progress here as we go.

Just on the way home with her now.

We took the engine yesterday and having been sat for a good number of years we removed plugs and put some oil into the cylinders and got it turning, being matching numbers this was important.

Wow - good luck. Got a lot of work there. Not any kind of expert. But rebuilt mine from scratch. Happy to help if I can. Rebuilt interior including roof cap and bunks so it’s all doable.

Thanks. Yeah, a lot of work but John has plenty of experience of far worse than this so we’ll be fine.

What colour is your bay? Mine looks a very similar colour and I’m trying to work out the colour code.
