Yes its that time again.....

On Saturday the 8th of November the Split Screen van Club will be holding another Swap meet at the Ace Cafe London. If your not already aware, this is the day before the Slough swap meet, which gives you the opportunity to do two VW meets in one weekend.

The day starts promptly at 10:00 am and continues till 4:00 pm. We have DJ’s and a show and shine competition plus the usual Ace Cafe conveniences. The idea is that you get one parking space to trade from your car. Preferential parking will be given to air cooled vw’s as space is a premium.

What do we need to do to get a space?

i wouldn't want to organise a line up just in case my carb gives up the ghost. I am planning on being there but it is a long trip from Wales.

I don't mind getting a list together and letting Rikki know numbers though.

Well I'm planning on going to the 'Ace', but will not be trading (buying not selling). Want a parking space but don't want to get in the way of traders. Not familiar with the location, so how does that work please?
Also, is it just A1 south and turn left at Hanger Lane?
Can get to most places in the U.K., but don't do Laaandun.

Would be more than happy to work with Jon sorting an EB line up. Don't know the layout other than what seen on TV & in mags, but sure we could do it! Not too far from me, Knebworth is an hour, so half an hour on top of that? If I/we (should have ma boy!) leave at 7.30 should be fine.

If a line up is to be done, then lets have some names and numbers well before the event so EB crew and SSVC know what to expect. If your names not down....!!!!!!

May struggle to make this as I'm working in Central London all that week until late Friday night so don't think I'll be overly popular if I head off to London first thing Saturday morning unless I can find somewhere to park the motor in London for the week.

I think you can do both, if you read Rikki's first posting, you get a pitch to park in and trade from that. I don't think that matters whether its in an EB line up or not.

For your information......

As far as trading is concerned, it works on a first come first served basis i.e. if you want to
guarantee a spot, get there early! Also remember air cooled vw's get priority in the Ace car
park.

EB Line up.....

Again, your all going to have to get up at the crack of dawn, to retain your line up area,
either that or someone is going to have to get there early and corden off your display
area (a bit like what I had to do for the external SSVC display out side the front gate at
the Volksworld Show, Sandown).

(08:00 am :shock: to be on the safe side, sorry :wink: )

Rikki suggests attendance by 8.00 am to be assured of line up space. I cannot be sure of making that deadline. Will try for as early as poss, depends on ma boy and how early he surfaces! Usually not late.....

Just to confuse matters before it starts, Rikki said it starts at 10.am, the Ace Cafe website says 11.am. May just walk away now and not get involved.....
