Having a problem with general driving becoming stressfull.
Now dies when stopping at lights and junctions, which is making me use her less and less.
Doesn't matter if it's hot or cold happens all the time apart from when she's reving her nuts off for no reason, idle seems to change at a whim.
Changed fuel filter, cleaned carb, fuels all fresh and not from Tescos, timings checked, idle set, mixture set.
The only thing left is fuel pump which I've not touched in years.
Any suggestions? before I stop driving her about, don't really fancy only using her on odd trips.

You've mentioned it, I'd be checking the fuel pump shaft is it getting enough fuel at low revs....worth a look to rule it out. Ben

Had the same a while back and it was a dodgy bit of wire to the fuel shut-off solenoid on the left of carb, was fine when accelerating, but everytime I got to a roundabout or lights it died. 5 minute fix and happy days...Just a thought...it should click when you take wire off and put back on with ignition turned on....
