Hi, anyone out there running a standard ride height early bay with alloys,? pics would be great with tyre sizes as well ,thanks

I'm gonna be sticking some alloys on my van this week, which is standard height at the mo. However because of the tyre combination I've chosen it should result in about a 3" drop to the front.

I'll get pics up once it's done.

Hi Jabbo, want to keep suspension standard, ive been the lowering route with my old splitty, planing a trip to europe next year, with 4 adults and full camping gear i dont wana be scraping every speed bump + ferry entrance,do love the look of alloys and lowering though. 8)

Like I say dude, my suspension will still be totally standard and as it left the factory.

Wheels will be going on tomorrow. :)

Sorry mate, read that in a hurry while eating my tea  read it second time and see what you mean, sorry, look forward to seeing the pics of your van with wheels fitted, :)

So gay, don't do it!

Mine before it was lowered...

Pete, call me PC or whatever but not impressed about 'gay' used as a derogatory term. Just a thought......

I'm not getting involved in the whole 'gay as a derogatory term' debate - but stock height buses on alloys just aren't my thing - I think that because they usually show less rubber the wheels look too small and, if anything, make the bus look higher than stock!

Each to their own etc, but not my bag! (my sisters late bay looks like this, I'll try to dig out a pic).

;)

Actually I will put my two-penneth in... if someone finds it offensive you should think about editing it - this forum isn't Policed like others, we should moderate it ourselves and keep things friendly and inoffensive IMHO.

;)

I've just put my alloys on mine to get it through an MOT (didn't see the point in buying new tyres for wheels I'm not gonna keep). If I'd known it would have changed my sexual orientation I would have thought twice about doing it.

Well I thought I was straight but I guess you can't argue with the evidence. I'll have to check with the missus!

Justin and Muttley, I couldn't agree more. Self regulation is so much better. For the record I think an alloys and stock height combination is missing something for the reasons stated elsewhere. Lowered and stock wheels is good, however, but, then again, each to their own. And that is the beauty of an open forum and the strength of ours....

IMO
Stock height = stock wheels and tyres (especially US spec buses with thin band white wall tyres are pretty tasty) like the red bus in the top left.
Slammed = almost anything :)
