Strange one

Ok, removing the steering column and coupling I found sat on top of the steering box a translucent bung....

with VW part number 211 611 849 in reposse on it

what is it off?

I've tried searching and all I get is " genuine VW plug " :roll: great but what the fuck does it plug

Ideas what in that vacinity is plugged and no its not the steering box, that plug is still in place and its too big for that....

Hiya Araon,

This is just a guess...........you mentioned translucent plug...........that might be the one of the two plugs that go in the body holes alongside the engine hatch and just inboard of the rear bumper. I realize that it was found in the front of the Bus, but offhand, this is the only translucent plug I can think of.

yeah unlikely to have traveled far ballanced on top of the steering box, I thought it had been disturbed whilst removing the coupling and fallen there but I'm buggered if I can find anywhere locally that would account for it..

size about 10p and round....
