As it says really, looking at taking Hank and the family (Wifey, 3 teenage boys and me) to Wales at Whitsun to do some surfing/chilling out.

Anyone recommend somewhere that might be suitable, we usually go to Bude in Cornwall but fancy a change this year and want to use Hank.

All suggestions gratefully recieved :D

Newgale down West is always pretty nice

http://www.newgalecampingsite.co.uk/

Stayed her last summer, nice clean toilets good local pub.
Decent surf at Newgale or selected other breaks if its onshore

Also there Freshwater West but beware of the nasty rips
(low tide - out to sea quickly, incoming south towards the firing range) and quicksand at the north end. Waves can be awesome here. Camp in the car park/ further up in the dunes or there's a campsite in Angle.

Loads of Spots around west wales and Gower
PM me if you want more info surfed the area 15 years :D

Cheers Phil

Thanks the place looks ideal, presume it gets busy at Bank Holidays and a no advance booking policy, thats rare these days.

May drop you a line closer to Whitsun to pick your brains about the area if we decide to go there,

Thanks Again

The Gower is on my doorstep and just simply breathtaking, Llangenith is great for the surf, walking and there's a top pub there too.

If you want to go a little further - St Davids is fantastic, good pubs, walks, surf, shops (for the girls).

Massive site and there is another just up the hill... Problem might be if you arrive late as the photo is taken from top campsite so the slopes not ideal if the bottom 2 fields fill up quick!

Sure i've been on a bank holiday and it wasn't to bad.

Llangenith's getting expensive due to them raising money for sticking log cabin's on the campsite  Surf easily blown out although there is some local sheltered spots (Broughton bay north end nice longboard left but needs Genith to be 3-4ft and can't have an "interesting" rip
