Mines had better days, so I need to replace - I'm sure I've been told that a 68 is different to other earlys, but I can't remember what the differences are.

Does anyone know, or am I just making it up?

By tailgate, I mean rear hatch, not engine lid.

Cheers

I have only come across a difference in the lock fitting between earlier and later tailgates. I bought a US import used tailgate and it required a different lock and striker mechanism. My ’72 crosser one is different and looks like it has an updated lock and striker but otherwise no differences at all.

Late bays have a different hinge to open them which mounts in a different place.

WHS - I know this as some previous owner helpfully welded a late bay tail gate onto my early bay arms  - thereby requiring new hinges and a tail gate when the time comes :(
