After buying a fold up coleman oven and getting all excited about cooking a pizza in it, i had this completely random thought of cooking a jacket potato on the engine ( wrapped in tinfoil of course ) and thinking that on a long run say a couple of hours i could enjoy a tasty jacket at the end. Could this be a great idea or am i bonkers and need to get out more!
Has anyone done this and do they taste of petrol and waxoil 8)

your engine bay shouldn't get hot enough to cook it......... you could try fitting it underneath (the hot zone) near the exhaust.

Sling it in the fan at about 3k and youl probably get chips  .

Bet if you hollowed out a heat exchanger it'd work - spud wise.......

You can go fish in tinfoil in a dishwasher........makes a good parts washer too - dont tell the missus!

chicken wire basket around the heat exchanger and your laughing.... sealed properly and you wont get and contamination....

not done it on a bay but it works on a landie 8) lovely :D

Cooked eggs and bacon on a landie in Iraq, doesn;t help with your question though :(

As a kid I once shoved a spud up my neighbour's car exhaust.... he wasnt happy when it blew the catalyst off :(
