Sounds nice!!! But you may want to move the fuel filter out of the engine compartment and put it under the bus. In my club here we had 2 fires in the past year, one in a bug, one in a bus ( few months ago) as the clamped hose came off in the bugs' and the bus the hose clamped to the filter split.. or something like that.. cant really remember what George said. Our club really pushes this on its members to do it.

We have to keep our treasures alive and lasting forever!..and keep us safe!

My filter under the bus got a massive leak and was constantly dripping. the garage was flooded with fuel. If this has been in the engine bay I would have no bus. The quality of these filters is really bad. I covered all joins of the new one in epoxy to be a little more sure it would not have the same issue.

Hey folks. Do you all think the placement of my fuel filter is bad then ? I was umming and arring about wether to put it by the tank or in the engine bay but away from the engine for obvious reasons. I put it there because I can keep an eye on it and easy access. The fuel line is Cohline so its best quality plus its all in tight and the filter is one piece and new. Ooh I'm feeling a bit 😕 now.🤙.

I think anywhere outside of the engine bay is good insurance!(y)
Yes, it is a pain to change it out, but to me worth it esp since it was so much more real to me when the 2 club guys vehicles caught fire,.

I also have this in my bus, not sure if you guys can get it where you are or not.. but this is extra insurance! and my bus is well worth it!!

The 6ft is fine, and super easy to install...

Here is a youtube showing it how it works in a bus with an engine fire.

bus engine fire

There is some debate as to how effective it would be in a bus with the motor still running, due to incoming air from the fan diluting the expelled product.. but that is speculation.. although I do remember reading one post where it did save someone's vehicle... I think it was a bus.

The consideration with the older buses is the gasoline is gravity fed, so if a hose is compromised during a fire and the fuel goes to the ground, that can ignite... but that is what your fire extinguisher is for! I heard some people with the older buses put in a simple solenoid valve in the fuel line, and wire it to an up front switch to turn off fuel in case something like this happens...
