I've bitten the bullet and have been servicing my 73 Devon Eurovette
myself for the first time.

So far i've managed to do an engine oil change, spark plugs and air filter
replenish.

I've even managed to fit a Just Kampers reversing light kit.

My question....

Whilst under the bus I noticed the drain and filler bolts on the gearbox.

What is the correct tool for removing these and where can I get one ?.

If i'm feeling brave I may even have a go at rear drum brake
adjustment but i'm a bit nervous of such a safety related item. The hand
brake lever comes out quite a way now though so it needs doing.

Thanks for looking.

Just have a go at the brakes fella you cant go that wrong that you are scared to take it to the roads.....the only bit to watch is the springs ripping into to flesh and taking dirt and crap into the gouge...try buying the spring stretchers (fitting tool)....always a pleasure learning another trick.. :D feeling of achievement and saving a crap load of cash...

dont worry to much and have a go with the rears as they only share 1/3 the braking load, your front do most of the work. Even if they did fail i would hope your fronts would be enough to stop your bus.

just dont park on any hills and leave it in gear until your sure :D

If you are going to change the gearbox oil, make sure the filler plug will undo before you drop the oil. I have seen it when they don't and the guy now has a bit of a problem as he has no oil in the box with no way of getting any back in. The tool is basically a 17mm allen socket, you can buy 'em to go on a half inch ratchet, like that JK one or as a traditional allen key. You can get 'em anywhere.

Top tip. i've ordered the tool from JK and will have a go when it arrives.

Thanks for the support.

I'm learning slowly
