Trailing arms

they wont fit straight in, the trailing arm is thicker.

some people use to mill down the bearing surface to fit a split but its not a good idea. the reason being that the distance between the top and bottom tubes on a split and bay is different so the balljoints are working against each other. the arc that the spindles travel in are not the same for both balljoints so they will bind up and can fail prematurely
the balljoints should move in a similar arc so its a big no no!
did you have a cunning plan then?

Well, I was just thinking... '68 front beams are not widely available (or expensive!), but split beams can be found rather easily. If the trailing arms fitted, I would buy a split beam and weld adjusters on it (maybe a bit narrower) and then swap the beams.
But I have to think of another cunning plan. Does anyone have split spindles?

Thanks for your reply! :D 8)

no worries dude, good luck!

BTW if your after split spindles go for late ones (63 up) as the early ones are much more expensive on parts, king pins, shoes n cylinders!

but you can always fit a CSP disc kit!!!!!
