thats good :D have you an agreed value in that price aswell? 8)

Sureterm Direct for me on all my vehicles. On Nic's bus we're both insured fully comp, it has an agreed value of £6000, limited to 5000 miles a year. Price = £96!

RH Insurance. A modified '68 Westy Interior, 1641cc, Dual Dell'ortos and 4 into 1 Quietpack. Cost me £134 a year, with 5,000 miles, £6,500 agreed value, buy back, £2000 contents insurance and free European breakdown and recovery.

You would be with HIC Easy being as you are Mr Cider

Depends on how modified it is too. I was with Heratage and couldnt renew with them due to a new bigger motor.

Went with VolksWorld insurance (HIC i think) and they were great.
Limited mileage, agreed value (5 figures) and £182....thats with a 2276 motor too :D

I was originally with VolksWorld - but I got pi**ed off with them because they charged me the £20 commission fee the second year I was with them even though nothing had changed and they didn't do anything except send me a reminder for the mileage!!!

;)

Interesting dude.............my brief experience with them was quick & friendly...told them all my mods and was surprised with the price tbh.
Many companies poo'd themselves when i mentioned bigger engines.....they couldnt quite understand it

I'm with Aon as well but they may not be taking new camper business as they had a major claim a few years ago - I think around a million was mentioned. I got mine OK'd as I'd had the 1303 with them for 6 years.

They charge me £170 for unlimited with a £6500 agreed valuation. I probably disagree with it myself having seen prices last weekend!

I'm with AON (they are cheap) and yes i have an agreed price 8) , they send out a from you fill in and they agree or send out an engineer who agrees.

A tip... all of their policies are unlimited milage (even if you stipulate 1500 miles when asked.)

Thats coolio, i have a limited mileage of 5000 miles and an agreed value of 11500 + recovery for a shade under 200 squids, but gonna change that next year as prices are well up

Good point easy, its somthing i wouldn't have thought of doing :) but ill be reviewing the value each year now as well. If the worst happened, it'll just get harder (and more expensive) to replace i suppose. At least vans are appreciating not depreciating for those of us that own them.

Just renewed with AON and thought it worth noting a few things here...

...they had no problem with my van now being lowered, no increase. Not sure how they will take to the tyres I want to put on but that can wait!

...no problem with increasing the agreed value. In fact they said we can do the agreeing from this forum - just need someone with headed earlybay.com letterheading to write formally the valuation (new thread coming on this point).

...no problem accepting new campervan business unlike I said in my previous quote.

My insurance for unlimited mileage and a present agreed value of £5000 is £213 - not bad for just inside the M25?

Finally - I reckon Mr earlybay could approach them with an offer of posting an advert and getting something form them - maybe a discount for being with earlybay?

thats a really good idea

I have a very good policy from them and ill definitely be sticking with them, but i wonder how easy they pay out and has anyone had to put a claim through them? just curious...

I had to claim when some local yob nicked a Range Rover and damaged around 30 cars in the village. He saw my van and pushed it into the garage, pushing my 1303 out of the end wall at the other end.

There was some damage to the front end (luckily he had done no damage at the rear) and I took the chance to replace it. The loss adjuster talked the cost down as it could have been filled and he could see the rusty bits but overall I got a very fair deal.
