Vango TBS Equinox 800 (High quality, 8 person tent) for sale – £250
This is a high quality, Vango TBS Equinox 800 (8 person tent) with TBS (Tension Band System) in great overall condition - not to be confused by the cheaper 'disposable' type of tents that are often sold today. This tent is constructed using high quality, lightweight materials and as such, was built to last! The tent and all accessories are complete as was originally supplied by Vango. The tents approx. overall size is 7.800 m (length) x 3.600m (width) x 1.900m (Hight) at the highest point and then tapering down at the ends of the tent. When packed in its original Vango carry bag, the tent ways approx. 18Kg – please note that all photos are of the actual tent, however I have only pitched it loosely and not used any of the guy ropes or ground tent pegs, it was put up just to take the photos!
8x high quality aluminium main ground pegs
Plenty of high quality aluminium pegs
The original Vango (unused) repair kit
All fabrics used internally and externally are made of waterproof, ripstop Hytex material and was waterproof to 6000mm HH (Hydrostatic Head a standard measure of water resistance i.e. how many mm of water can be applied before it penetrates the material), with all joints being internally taped for extra waterproof protection. The structural poles that give the tent its 'tunnel' shape, are made of high quality aluminium, and are internally connected with elasticated shock chord, so that assembly is fool proof. The poles are also colour coded at the ends to match with corresponding coloured fabric flashes on the internal pockets that the poles are inserted in. This is a nice touch as it makes the whole assembly process so much simpler!
Waterproof, ripstop Hytex material
Main tunnel poles, colour coded and threaded through with elasticated shock chord
Additional poles to created covered entrance
The Vango Equinox 800 incorporates Vango's innovative Tension Band System (TBS) wind stabilisation mechanism for tunnel tents, which adds a clever system of internal bracing/triangulation. This makes the tent even more stable in any adverse windy conditions.
