VW 1972 Type 2 Volkswagen - Devon Campervan – Originally a “Deluxe Devon”
1972 “Cross-Over” with “Walk Through” front seating arrangement.
9 months MOT
Free Road Tax
Mileage – 44,555
Engine - 1600
Camper is in solid, reliable condition……….pretty much bullet-proof.
It’s been well maintained in the past which reflects in its condition today.
It only contains the rock and roll bed as all the fittings were removed sometime ago by the previous owner to make space………….which is what I wanted.
I also have all MOT certs dating back to 1988……as well as all the Tax dics.
I have documents covering maintenance work for the last 10 years.
All documentation is kept with the original 2 x Instruction Manuals – dated Aug 1971
As well as the original VW wallet/holder
Only minor negative points:
Roof was converted into a wooden-top many years ago and has started to weaken in two points. Can easily be filled to repair or my mechanic can replace the roof with an original pop-up roof which he has recently gained access too.
The bottom panel (bottom seal) on the drivers side door and the bottom panel (bottom seal) of the sliding door have started to corrode. Could be replaced………but the Van is all original so be advisable to weld new strips and paint in the original Texan Yellow.
A veiwing is recommended - there is some corrosion on the back chassis and wheel arch that will require attention. This will be taken into cosideration on offers.
I have had this Camper for 9 years and it’s a very reluctant sale with a genuine reason for been sold.
