Vw early bay rear break drums

Hi all just wondering if anyone can give me any information about installing late bay rear break drums on a early bay. I’m replacing the whole breaking system. Is this possible? As the early breaks seems to be very expensive. I have a donor and it a 73 tbh it doesn’t look any different. Thanks

What year is your bus ? If its 71 model year onwards with 5 x 112 stud pattern the whole lot including back plates should fit. If it's before that with the wide 5 stud pattern 5x205 they won't. I'm pretty sure someone on this forum has even upgraded to T25 rear brakes.

Later rear stub axles, bearings, brakes and wheel pcd are totally different to early bays.
If you don't mind changing your wheel stud pattern to 5x 112 rather than 5x 205, then swap the complete front spindle/brake and rear hub/brake assemblies from the donor bus.
