Wanted: Door lock wafers

That I dont know, just read on the samba how to rejig your locks and said about having a few spare wafers!?

when i mended my locks
i just took out the wafers that sit proud
then the springs that go with them
and thay worked ok now
i not need more wafers

You might have been lucky if you could re-use all the parts you had and they work without modification but from experience that is rarely the case and parts get left out or modified (i.e. filed to fit).

As an example, I needed to move a bus at the weekend, I had no idea which keys I needed so grabbed 3 sets, all worked the cab doors (so basically anything would open the doors) but only the correct one operated the ignition. This wasn't my bus, just another old VW

All you need is a decent amount of old locks to break up for spares and then select the best condition parts and re-build. I also suggest you build off a new code cut key
 
sourcing old locks seems to be an issue, haven't found any cheap :(
