Hi all,
my name is Stefan and I am new to this forum. I am looking for a T2 Westfalia to do some trips starting next spring through Europe with my small familie (we are three, my daughter is almost 5 years old). The bus must be a LHD with pop-top and should be ready to go and no project. If it is in need of a little TLC (i.e. damaged interior, welding of batterie boxes or in need of a respray etc.), no problem! I really would prefer a late modell T2 Berlin with disk brakes and 2.0L engine. However I don´t want to narrow down my search too much. Maybe I could fall in love with an earlier bus, so please let me know what you have to offer! We live in Germany and I like the idea of traveling to England to pick up our future „Westy“! One last request. If you have anything to offer please contact me directly. I am not in favour of endless personal discussions i.e. „how much do you want to spend“ within a forum, simply because I feel their are private issues that only should be discussed between buyer and seller. My oppinion! I am looking forward to your offers!!!
Thanks and regards,
Stefan
P.S. since this forum only deals with buses from 68-72 could sombody tell me if there is another forum covering the later T2 models?

Hi Stefan,

I think you really want an Early Bay if you have a good taste (just my opinion ;) )
But you can also try this Dutch forum, called VCT2 = Vrienden Club van T2 which means Friends Club of Bay Windows:
http://www.vct2.nl/forum
I also have planned to go on vacation in Germany next year, at least visit Wolfsburg and Berlin.
Good look with your search!

Tschüs, Eric

Hi Eric,
thanks for your reply!!! You can only develop a better taste if you know the subject! :D However I am fairly new to the bus world and havn´t really developed my own taste yet! Till my daughter arrived I was more into VW beatles and Triumph TR4s. For camping purposes those are unfortunately useless.
I will take a look at your suggested pages.
Thanks again,
Stefan

Hi Stefan, welcome to the Early Bay site, if you are really after a 2.0 litre and maybe a slightly later model, there is also the Late Bay . Com which are also a nice bunch of lads and lasses. Might be worth a little look on their for sale section.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Big Welcome anyhow and seasons greetings

Hi Ozziedog, hi Eric,
thanks for the welcome and your suggestions of several sites. Fact is I am still not sure if I should go for an earlier bus or a later one. The earlier ones definately look better to me but the later ones might be the better drivers i.e. more horses, better brakes etc.!? I guess I will wait and see what I will find or will be offered. If the right bus shows up I will know in a heartbeat that this is the one for me!
Thanks again,
Stefan
