I was planning to use the existing standard US westie hook up on my van, I have bought an external lead from the forum and was intending to use a travel plug, had the unit apart tonight and wiring is disconnected, firstly any good reason I cant just connect back up and try it out? if so does anyone know what the wiring should be, thanks in advance Jonny

Mate, mine was pretty much hanging in there when I looked inside, personally I wouldn't trust the 44 yr old wiring etc. I'm looking at the options of what I can do using new equiptment at the moment, seems to vary a lot in prices depending exactly what you want

I use my Westy hook up, I checked its integrity as best I could, I then ran a set of wires from it to a RCD and back to the westy interior switch.
Works a treat and looks the nuts in my opinion.
I didn't take many photos but will upload what I have.

The second picture shows the RCD (gray box) from the side.
