Im looking to replace my Westy pop-top canvas and all of the necessary roof/pop-top seals. There seems to be so many different types around at very different prices. Does anyone have any experience / recommendations please?
Any thoughts on the Just Kampers bundle kit - seems very cheap at £153 all in!

Thanks

Kev

I ummed and aaghed about this when I changed my canvas.

martyboy on here has the JK one, which he is (I believe) happy with. I looked at this, and it is like a modern tent fabric - so pretty thin but probably very waterproof. It looks very neat.

I went for the VW Heritage one, which is more traditionally canvassy cloth. I'm very happy with the weight of it and the look, but have yet to get rained on. I don't think it will be as waterproof, as I can see very small holes through the stitching - I suspect it may be a little too taught, but I wanted to avoid that saggy look. It was a tad big at the base, so I have a little "gub" at the front corners.

Incidentally, all of the instructions I have seen say you must remove the roof to change it. Well I didn't - I couldn't see why you had to when you just tack it on on the ground, then fix it properly in situ. And unless I have put it on totally wrongly, it was fine to do with the roof still attached.

Cheers,
Nick

I agree with marty boy, i've got a jk canvas on mine it's proved really good :D Chris aka Panelvan helped me with fitting mine and i'd reconmend taking the roof off, it's not as bad as you think. Saying that we nearly died of heat stroke doing mine

I bought ours from Wolfsburg West in the US and had is shipped over in the bus.

Quality seems good but waiting for dry weather to fit it.

I've got the JK one and its pretty good value considering you get the seals too. Not tried it in rain, but as was said before its a fine type of canvas and i used silicone spray to seal it anyhow. I fitted it on the roof first and then stapled to the poptop. But doing it the proper way, by taking the poptop off and fitting it to that first allows you to hide all fixings (you shouldn't be able to see the strips stapled on the inside).

go with what the other people say or go for something different:

Leon at concept pop tops is a good guy to talk to. Takes time out to explain everything. Uses army/military spec canvass so will be good for many years.
Visit him here:

Or

Not heard anything about these guys, but the patterns are great:

Or you could just stick to a plain one from JK?
