Westy questions

I have a '71 US Westy and have a couple of queries I'm hoping someone can answer :-

1. I've seen a number of wanted adds for the triangle support bar to help support the food over sink top table. Was this part fitted to all as mine doesn't have thus but looking at the side of the unit there are no obvious holes etc to show that there used to be one.

2. I've just purchased a missing stench pipe, am I correct in thinking that the sink unit has to be removed to fit this ?

3. With regards to the stench pipe, at the moment the top if the sink has a small threaded pipe protruding where the stench pipe should go with a screw on lid. Has this been retrospectively fitted as it seems to be the same diameter as the stench pipe so I'm not sure how it actually fits ?

I think the tube your on about is the filler Tue mate. The stench tube goes the other side

Pretty sure its the stench tube, on the right hand side as you look towards the front of the bus ?

Assuming you've a LHD then the stench is on the right (closest to the sliding door)

Yep, that's the one. You can see what I currently have here :-

I managed to fit the stench pipe with the unit in situ, just be careful s they are quite brittle.
Also the flip over table on my 71 doesn't have the support, just the hinges hold it up.

Thanks Martin, sure does. Can you remember when fitting the stench pipe, was there already a protruding piece from the top of the sink unit or does it look like the pipework on mine is aftermarket (as I suspect) ? Just trying to ascertain how it actually fits.

That looks exactly the same as mine, the stench pipe screws on to the threaded black bit.
Looks like someones added the cap to blank it off.

The thread on the stench tube should screw into the tread sticking out your sink top, its meant to be like that.

Ah cheers guys, am I right in thinking that the threaded part is just held in place by a rubber seal? the stench tube I bought is missing a threaded part so I'm guessing that that's the issue.

I don't suppose you have it but forgot to include Simon ?
