Hoping someone can shed some light on this. On about 6 occasions now whilst driving along the sliding door has opened itself. The door has been shut firmly and doesn't pull open so I can only guess its bouncing the catch. I do have a sticker on the steering column stating only drive with sliding door locked. Does this mean locked with the key? I took it as closed and not to drive around with it open? I have started locking it on the key now and its not happened since doing this but tbh I don't like doors key locked with passengers incase the worse happens and you can't get out.

Are you sliding it shut and then lifting the handle to pull and latch the rear of the door in place?

It shouldn't open itself if its fully closed or even in the closed but not quite latched position.

I wouldn't ever drive with it actually locked with passengers in the rear.

I'd suspect worn latch/catch or not quite adjusted correctly.

No I've just been sliding it shut. Should I be lifting the handle then?

Thanks Clem

Bit of an update. Took the advise given and lifted the handle to latch it shut. Two miles down the road, door remains closed but it's popped out on the rear latch sliding mechanism so guess that's the problem. At least with the advise given I can lift the handle to latch it rather than lock it until I get it sorted. Thanks again

Open the sliding door halfway, loosen the 6mm allen headed bolts holding the rear catch on the pillar and move it inwards slightly, tighten the bolts and see if that works.
If not, keep adjusting until it shuts with a click and the rear of the sliding door is flush with the bodywork.

Top man Sparky, will have a play when I get 5 min's

I broke my handle today as I was forcing it to get it close properly. Adjusted like sparky suggested and it's much easier now. Literally a 2 min job and one I wish I did a long time ago!
