Hi,

Consider the following...

- Wheel width: 5" (127mm).
- Back space (edge of rim to hub mounting face): 80mm
- Centre of wheel = 63.5mm
- Wheel offset (difference from centre of wheel to hub mounting face): 80 - 63.5 = 16.5
- Using a 10mm spacer - which further reduces the offset to 6.5mm.

If all the above are correct, would this 5" rim with an offset of 6.5mm fit on the back of a 68 bus?

Is anybody using a rim with a similar offset?

Thank you,

Mike

I tried to work it all out once, best to just try it. It's the tyre that will trip you up, width and profile. I would have thought it would fit.

I agree - would be easier to try it. But logistically that's not really possible. My bus is at a bodyshop the other side of Guildford, and the wheels are up in Nottingham.

Wheels could be brought to Volksworld show, but I don't have a bus to try them against. If I can persuade seller to bring wheels down - would anybody volunteer a 68 bus for me to try on?

see waht you mean

what type of rims is it? just fitted 5.5" with 185/65 on the back of mine, if I remember tomorrow i'll measure the offset on these

From memory EMPI 5s are 5.5 ET13 which makes your wheels spot on.
