Looking to buy a Haynes Manual!/ or other manual if there is a better option?

Mines a 72 crossover model

Started out as a 1700cc US bus but has had a 2000cc engine installed in at some point!

What is going to be the best manual to buy, as the 2000cc manual seems to be covering the later bay set up, higher indicator etc ?

Do I maybe need to buy a 72-79 manual for the engine, etc and then the earlier 68-72 manual for the wiring diagrams, weights....etc?

Don't really want to pay out for two manuals if unecessary !

What's out there, what do early bayers recommend & is any one selling one? :?: :?: :?:

Thanks

R

I have a 72 with a 1700 and I use the Haynes manual for the VW 1700/1800 Transporter 1972 to 1974. Its a late bay on the cover but its pretty much all you need to cover your van.
Im not sure how different the 2000 engine is but I would have thought that its basically the same in principal.
There is a US wiring diagram for the 72 too.
There should be enough info on the net if you want any info specific to your engine.

Hope that helps.

Where sell the idiots guide and the Bentley manuals?

A few people recommended the Bentley manual as being pretty much fool proof!

throw in an autodata and you should have all the reference material you need.....

I find with all vehicles its best to spread the field and get some real early literature too you'll be suprised at how indepth and accurate the exploded views can be.....

Thanks guys

Just got the idiots guide and the bentley manuals from amazon £ 33 inc P&P !!!!

Pretty good me thinks! :D

Now the bays up and running sweetly , mot'd and in theory sound all over i can avoid using mechanics and keep her tootling along with these two bits of essential reading! :party0003:
