wireless router help!!!

ive just bought a router.it asks me to type in http;//192.168.1.1 to access the set up screen.

Message reading "page not found"

Ive checked that my settings for tpi are set to auto.

Any help please!
 
plug it in via the network cable, may work then well thats what i did until i configured it properly

it didnt work through the dongle on the laptop.so i tried to conect it via port 1 to my main pc but still nowt. :?
 
It's always easiest to set up a router via an Ethernet cable, but check that your PC is configured to use the Etherent port (sometimes disabled - check it in Network Places) - let us know how you get on...

:oops: Sorry!
It'll either show on the right hand side of the pop-up menu when you click 'Start' (Windows PC) or you can use 'Network Connections' in Control Panel (Start, then Control Panel) - let me know how you get on, if you get stuck then PM me and I'll send you my number so you can call me...

your using ; instead of : in the address http://192.168.1.1

and like Hasthespaz says, you must configure the router with an ethernet cable first to be able to set up the wireless options.
