Hi ladies and gents,

After selling my 64 Split recently so I could move, I managed to have a bit of cash spare to hunt for a project bay.

You may/may not have recently seen my thread when i had dealings with a proper numpty on ebay, but since then Ive scoured every forum every day until I found something I wanted.

I found Yoji on Vzi with not much of a write up and the pictures were ok. I was helping a friend pic up a split from Doncaster and decided to take a look at this on the way home.

Immediately when I turned up I realised , in fact, the van looked nothing like the pictures

it looked like this in the picture

it looks like this in reality

There is lots to do, Im saving that for October onwards. Underneath has an array of repairs/bodges/silicone/tigerseal, you know, the usual.
The front panel will probably be replaced/repaired as it leaks like a sieve. the window seal and window have silicone around them.
the side window sills need repairing as some of those leak and all rubbers need doing.

there is a sheet of steel , covering the main underside, replicating a belly pan, it looks new but the previous owner stated he hadnt done anything like that underneath in the five years he has owned it :-s I took my dad and of course my friend so that I wasnt a victim to rose tinted glasses. It was clear to all of us that it was a project, but I bid the chap and got it for an OK price.

The corners and steps need doing too.
It is taxed and MOT'd, not that that means much on alot of Bays.

All in all its usable, it drives, albeit bloody slowly compared to the 2007cc I was running in the split.
I had a late bay panel before, and i definitely perefer the drivability of a bay.

Im happy, in the coming months, ill post pis of the neverending work once it starts. The downside is a bloody small pot of money, so we shall see where we get :)

the split was mint, and fast :p

those two silly things on the roof are like mickey mouse ears, they are silly unneccessary air vents.
starting work on it will be a few months off yet, Im just about to change job location and take a 6.5k pay drop so that will drastically influence the work.
