Educate me about Z-Beds.

What are they, how do they work, what were they originally in?

Are they as flimzy as RnR beds?

I dont want a bed as such, but Im turning my bus back into a Clipper and would like to put a bench seat at the back with proper seatbelts, but I would also like the flexibility of being able to fold the seat down so I can get long things in the bus like planks of wood..

What are the options?

In a nutshell they are brackets that attach to your bench seat and allow it to fold flat like a bed, dave on here (ddfrost) has had some remade recently and is selling them, if you search for a link on Z bed hinges I'm sure his post will appear

link to topic is here http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=3902&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=z+bed+hinges&start=285" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Page 20 of the thread has the article that was in Camper & Bus either last month or the month before which shows you the install & how they work.

You still need a bench seat the hinges just fit to the bottom of the seat and the floor and allow you to turn the bench seat into a flat platform with the back of the engine bay.

Still have 4 sets left if your interested

We have some more details at
