Parts Wanted Westfalia / Gadget style towbar

Looking for one of the towbars that works with a VS exhaust. Am hopefully going to Field of Dreams near York in early September, would be great if I could get one sorted to collect there or something.

    Insurance - VW Model

A spot of thread resurrection...insured my Bay with Classicline a few days ago and it was quick, easy and (I thought) good value at £111 inc full European breakdown cover (3,000 miles pa, market value not agreed value and I'm a boringly good risk!). No affiliation etc but always happy to give a...

Engine upgrade advice needed - 1971 Type 1 stock 1600cc engine

My father's bus had a rather tired 1600 twin port engine, we've just swapped it for a nicely built 1641 (1600 with 1641 conversion kit) we got off ebay for just over £2,000. Of course that was a gamble but we did what checks we could and, so far (500 miles in), it has transformed the bus. Like...

    Earlybay front badge

I've got a white plastic one with backing clips and a metal (aluminium?) one with threaded mounts and nuts. The plastic one is new and bagged (and i'm pretty sure not VW), the metal one is used but wouldn't take much to tidy up very nicely, no idea if it is OEM or not. I held onto them as I...

    Dormobile Table Mount

The good news is I found the table. The bad news is it has no fittings on it. There is still a chance I took the fittings off for some reason (that now escapes me) so I'll keep looking as I'm in the process of finding all the bits for my van to go back together anyway.

Can anyone help ID my front Calipers?

Ah £54 for one - and having now found the listing on the bay of fleas I realize you were talking pairs I was talking singles! I think I'll get one of those kits and take a chance on it ('take a chance' always being a great phrase to use in relation to brakes! ) But if anyone does have...

Can anyone help ID my front Calipers?

Ah well the current snag is I can't get one piston out but yes I take your point and if I do get the piston out I'll definitely aim to refurb. Link didn't post but I'm sure I can find it with google now I have the brand name (mind you I'm seeing 'new' calipers for £54 at Veewee)

New to EarlyBay ? Say Hi here ...

I may have a complete under seat cooker unit but need to check mine is all complete and working first - oddly enough I may need one of those small SMEV units for another project (71 Eriba Puck)...there could be a trade to be done! I'll do some pics in a bit for you

New to EarlyBay ? Say Hi here ...

I've got quite a few I can dig out. Both before the new upholstery was done and after. Any bits in particular you want to see? I've got the under seat gas hob, the coolbox with MASSIVE freezer block and I rebuilt the rear storage area myself to make extra storage and get the bed to the right...

New to EarlyBay ? Say Hi here ...

Not so much a 'hi' as a 'hi again'! After a few years off I'm back and finally working on my 71 Dormy again. Looking forward to the advice and help on here (already got a post up for help with y brake calipers but also trying to help a member out with a table bracket - it works both ways!)...

    Dormobile Table Mount

I think I've got 2 tables so if they both have a full set of brackets I could spare one I'm sure. Of course they are at the back of the garage so not immediately accessible but I need to go adventuring there anyway to get some bits out for the Dormobile wardrobe I'm rebuilding. Give me a day or...

Can anyone help ID my front Calipers?

My front brake calipers are shot beyond recovery so need replacing. Of course the bus is a 1971 so the ‘one year only’ brake fit but I think she has had some kind of conversion to allow different calipers to fit. Piston size is 54mm, distance between the 2 halves is way more than 48mm and the...

    Litesteer Power Steering

Just picked the van up from having the Lite-Steer power steering system fitted. Very very pleased with the result. Cannot speak highly enough of the quality of the workmanship and the professionalism of Neil and Gabby who run the place. Lots of other little niggles were sorted at the same time...

    I did stop honest.

I normally work on engine lid open - need help, otherwise OK. Yes I realise many things other than the engine can cause you to come to a halt but most of the time you'll end up popping the engine lid!
