Tearing my hair out removing Hazard switch!

No way! I even tried a pair of mole grips (gently of course) and the damn thing won't budge. Does the rod come out of the switch? As even if I get the black part of the knob removed the bulb holder will still stop the collet being removed.

Tearing my hair out removing Hazard switch!

Hi all, Does anyone out there know how to remove the knob off the end one the hazard switch. I've managed to unscrew the rest but the hazard will not budge. I've removed the rubber outer and the red lens/bulb but still no joy. If anyone knows the correct location of the switches, I'll be...

What did you do with your early bay today

Painted both bumpers, and peeled the tape off my paint job to see the results. Very happy with it considering it was done in a garage 100_2295

    The Blue '71 makeover

I know! Couldn't believe it's been nearly a year. There's been a bit of shopping at some shows, so I have a nice pile of parts to go on. Also been stripping an impreza to raise some funds 100_2142 Been to the paint suppliers today and picked up some L90D, so a bit more sanding and then...

    The Blue '71 makeover

It's been a while, so I thought I'd better post an update. Progress has been a little slow, it's supprising how much time a one year can take! Some of you may have seen my post in Technical, about strengthing the roof. 100_2237 As the paint on the poptop had cracked, I thought now would be a...

    Sagging roof repair

It's getting there. I don't want to start testing the strength until all the fireglass has been laid, so time will tell.

    Sagging roof repair

Bit of an update for you all. After getting the lurgy last weekend, progress hasn't been great. I cut into the ribs to fit the frame and it was full of foam as expected. Looking at the construction, it looks like the outer skin was moulded first. Then all the foam, cardboard roll, timber and z...

    Sagging roof repair

Had a quick look again today, in addition to the reinforcement I'm going to run two round bars between each of the support brackets in an attempt to stop the edges bowing upwards. I think the steel for the bellows will need some work! 100_2219

    Sagging roof repair

The inner and outer skin are bonded together. I've tried to sketch it out below. roof I like the idea of putting the reinforcement in the rails, I think I should have bought box section instead now! With the roof & ceiling bonded together though they should be ok. I'm going to start...

    Sagging roof repair

Please keep thing thinking aloud! The more it's talked about the more pitfalls/improves we can find :D Plan A was to have the U hanging down, but I would struggle fixing the cross pieces. Thinking about it now, there won't be too much lateral movement once it is all in position. I didn't want...

    Sagging roof repair

Hi ozziedog, thanks for casting your eye over this. I've mocked something up below. The U channel Ali will be put on it's side in a'C' position, open side facing the outer edge. It will also be drilled every 6" on the bottom edge to allow the adhesive bond through it. I'm going to have to rely...

    Sagging roof repair

Hi all, As we enter a new year, I am on a push to get the bus sorted. The weather last year literally put a dampner on things. After I stripped the interior I found the poptop was leaking, through the fibreglass. I have pull the top off and stripped everything off it, I have also picked up some...
