There will be a takeoff for the vaccum from the carbs - follow that vac line under the bus and it will be between the servo and takeoff somewhere, mine is around the gearbox area for access should I ever need to replace it

    shock absorber opinion req'd

Ive got the Spax Gas adjustable on the back of mine at the minute buddy and they are decent shocks although not used them in anger with the scooby lump just yet. The coolair ones look the best built out of the ones you have posted. I know quite a few peeps running the KYB ones too without any...

Bus is now sat down at Turweston Airfield getting an exhaust fabricated at the minute - getting Mike Hausmaan of Vintage Volkshaus to sort me out. His welding skills are unsurpassed, after that its a case of running the hydraulic clutch and connecting some wires and the coolant lines and im...

    mot changes

Yep agreed - its such a open bit of legislation that could be interpreted any number of ways. Im very interested to see how it all turns out and what if any action is taken against people/buses that seemingly fall outside the "rules" There has been loads of chatter ref a £50 safety check that is...

    mot changes

Mike - As im sure you may have seen there has been another rather more heated thread discussing these changes over on the latebay forum - my own take on the engine change legislation took a slightly different tack to you due to the way the guidance was written. It states: Engine –...

    "LemurBus" Empty Garage Syndrome

Would love to see your face the first time you use some of the available power - youll be grinning from ear to ear! Awesome to see it done so efficiently and quickly - mine is languishing on the drive at my new gaff under a cover at the min due to the fact it wont fit in the new garage! Off to...

    Rebuild or not?

I lost a valve stem seal on my old aircooled lump, it destroyed a piston and a cylinder head. The engine was pulled apart just enough to replace all 4 pistons and both cylinder heads after the replacement items were degreased, valves lapped in and cleaned. Day after the engine failure I was...

Uk to italian lakes in earlybay

Exhaust fell off because i reversed into a tight spot with high curbs Coil failed due to a crack and all the oil leaked out so kept cutting out Had the brakes fail because I left the handbrake partially on Other than that no issues abroad

Done Europe several times, loved it! Been to Gerona, Monaco, Italy, Germany and more in the bus. Just keep an eye on the temps and enjoy your trip. We were doing 6/8 hr sessions just to make the distance stopping only for fuel and rest breaks.

Whilst your there you should consider uprating the clutch release bearing to a later type (if it is an early type) Replace your pushrod tubes and seals - I went for spring loaded ones which never leaked a drop Check the condition of your oil cooler and replace if necessary Obviously replace all...
