Fuel leak on Solex 34 PDSIT 2

Check if the cover is not warped. Lay it on a flat surface and look for a gap. If there is one, get a piece of sand paper, lay down on the flat surface (preferably glass or granite) then sand the cover until it's flat. That should solve your problem. Abel

    Valve clearance

If you unsure what engine you have or if it's not the original engine that came in the Bus, there will be no harm in the extra 0.05mm just to be safe. Go with 0.20mm. Abel

Anyone know what these clips are called?

Hey Craig :D The flaps themselves are the same, on the dual port the linkage between the two flaps are different. The SP has only a flat bar with four holes that connects directly to the flaps and it's secured by those spring style clips. The DP(the one you have in the pic) has a bar with two...

    IDF Venturi Outside Diameter

The vents should be chosen according to your intake valve size. Normally 3-5mm smaller than the valve for a more performance oriented engine, so if you have stock valve heads and drive mostly in the higher rpm range, i would leave the 30's. If you use the Bus in town a lot and do not rev high...

Anyone know what these clips are called?

You can use these www.vwheritage.com/211259283-accelerator-pedal-linkage-spring-vw-spare They were the ones used on the single port flaps, it works ok if you cannot find the other style. Good thing is they keep the assembly more tight and less noisy due to the springy style. Abel

    Oil temperatures

I would stop when the temp reaches 110deg C as if it reaches 120deg C the oil breaks down due to oxidation, looses it's lubricity and the engine will suffer🤤 Abel

    Cutting out when hot

Fuel pump or coil. When it dies, try pumping the gas pedal a few times then start. If it gives signs of starting then dies again, you know it's fuel problem, 99% that it's the fuel pump. Abel

Twin Carbs - What route for fuel lines?

Ozzie, have a look at the pushrod, maybe it's mushrooming the tip. Hopefully it could be just that😁 Abel

Twin Carbs - What route for fuel lines?

The rocker wear is probably down to poor materials and workmanship, so common nowadays :( , for that reason i always recommend using the OG German parts as much as possible. ;) Abel

Twin Carbs - What route for fuel lines?

If you having to adjust the exhaust valve on n3 constantly, i would be worried of the valve giving signs of dropping  How hot is the engine running? Fuel mixture? How many miles do you have on the engine? Either your lifter is getting badly worn or the valve is stretching. You can remove...

Twin Carbs - What route for fuel lines?

Ozzie, first thing i would check is the springs  If you have one of the mild performance 1641's from Heritage, chances are that you have HD springs to match the Engle 100 cam(these cams DO require those by the way). That can be too much pressure for the wavy springs of the stock...

Twin Carbs - What route for fuel lines?

+1. And i secure it with "P" clamps and rivet nuts, not self tapping screws. Abel
