Evening people, Recently replaced my indicator unit with a new one on my US 70 bus. However, my flasher relay has now melted twice and sometimes the 2nd fuse (the fuse that has the red wires connected to it) blows as well. Once it melted when just having the turn signal in the down/left...

Got a new sliding door seal to fit and found your post... So, on my LHD rubber the flap will be sticking out from the left (or should I say closer to the rear of the door), but does the flap face into the channel/recess or does it face outwards? i.e. which side sits in the channel?

I'm replacing my old flasher relay (which died) with a new modern one, then as the connection layout is different I'm going to try with some short jumper wires back to the fuse box. My only question is that the old relay (4 connections) had a "KBL" labelled connection, which my new modern one...

Hi, My bus is a 70 US spec and the fuse box is the Orange bakelite one, which is known to crack/fall to pieces. Therefore I'm looking at what options I've got to replace it (not looking for another identical one)... 1 - 71 spec fuse box with the pins swapped around to resemble the orange...

Any updates? Also does the new loom use the original fuse box (I've got the orange bakelite one that vw did for 6 months) or does it require a new one? If it's a new one, is it more like a 71 fuse box or a straight replacement of the 70?

Recently got Orange indicator bulbs from 3 different suppliers, but they all seem to be slightly smaller in diameter around where the terminals are, than the ones that were originally on the bus (which is a 70 from the US). So, they don't 'lock' into the indicator housing. Strange thing is...

To be honest I wondered aswell why the tape was there in the first place. I'm thinking it might be to protect the relays from moisture or some kind of leak in the past? There was a tiny bit of corrosion on the terminals (you might be able to make it out). I tempted to take all the tape off...
