    ICT 34 adjustments

Hi All Have only run the ICT34s for a few miles on a 1776 C25 CAM all else standard engine but it appears to be running a bit rich. The idle/primary jets a 60s and teh mixture screw is out about 1.5 turns which I think is minimum recommended according to Redline set-up. Idle speed itself seems...

    Engine Choice

I'd be sorely tempted by a Subaru conversion. Not a whole lot more than a 'custom' T1 engine I saw some nice stuff at Stanford Hall - about 2-3k (less engine about 1k) depending if you DIY. Also since they can rev higher much more reliably you'll get your 70 on a standard box I would think...

    Advice needed

My view might be different from others but here goes anyway.. These busses are old and almost all except those raised in Arizona will have some rust and rot. In Europe this can be quite a lot of rust and rot. However this is over a 40 year/150kmiles period and so the fact that the bus, your...

    Flat Spot What to doooo??

The 009 is an easy target IHMO. There's a dozen things to check before blaming the distributor. From what I understand the vac part gives some extra oomph at start off and that's about it. A thorough tune-up, timing, points (gap), tappets, mixture, plugs, leads and cap. is needed before binning...

^^^ Hmm, what he said ^^^ 3rd picture down from top looks a bit naughty some scoring in the saddles. Do you have any history of this engine ? The Tom Wilson book will help you decode the bearing markers too. Good luck JS

Type 2 engine in a variant...

Clem You should have seen the prices at Stanford Hall. Early or late, anything in what I would call 'average condition was up for 8-10 K. VGC stuff 12-14K and one mint Westy was 18 or 19K I think. Mind boggling... Still reminded me to up teh insurance value on my steel and oxide combo. JS

    Separate Breakdown Cover

hi all Can anyone recommend a separate breakdown cover, UK only is fine for me right now. I see a lot of you get it rolled in the insurance (e.g Cherished) but my renewal isn't up until August. Used to be covered by a green flag husband and wife personal thingy but I don't think they do it...

Lots of early bay stuff engine chassis lights etc

NOt my van but this picture (yellow circles) shows the rotten areas. Not in any great hurry for this since I need to find time to remove engine, fuel tank etc. which is tricky with my nagging Mrs. TBH I think just a couple of cuts 6 " x 12" would do it, but I will measure again...

difference in the tinwear on sp and tp

Under cylinder tin and rear/pulley tin is I think the same. But because of the 'dog-house' oil cooler on the TPs the front 'apron' is different where it exhausts the hot air. Plus of course the fan housing itself is different and as you surmised the head tins. JS

    engine bar bolt holes

Bizarrely I only had two out of three lugs on my case so that's how the bus is running right now (missing the left hand M10 one). In fact since I only had two I druilled them moth for M10 and enlarged the hole on the moustache bar. Note that the case metal is very soft so a hand-held drill is...
