    Generator Light Staying On

IIRC, alternators don't have brushes. Is your fan belt tension correct? About 1/2" of deflection is correct. Is your alternator grounding out on something, possibly the carb linkage or something else? How's your voltage regulator?

ICING on manifold and carb HELP

My guess is that your heat riser tubes on your intake manifold are clogged with carbon. This tends to happen through years of use. Heat from the muffler travels up the tubes to help warm your carb and help prevent an icing situation where the intake and the carb meets. Your options? Find a new...

    Early Bay front tinware

71 had the one year only firewall tin...you could go the way 67 Bay advised, or look for a real german single port tin from a bus and cut out the rectangular hole for the oil cooler tin exit out of.

Anyone got a picture of how fuse box fits on 1970 bay?

There should be a fusebox sitting where the empty bracket is  No seriously, is your fusebox missing two small tabs, one on either side? The lower portion of the fusebox has a small lip which should fit into that lower clip. The tabs that are on either side should be in front (facing...

    Early Bay Differences

Does your current one's wiper assembly itself (where the motor bolts onto) have the same shape as your 68 assembly with grub screws? Was wondering if someone switched it out at some time for a 69-71 assembly.

    hub nut

It should be a 46 mm.

    Connecting speedo cable

It should go from the speedo unit, down to the front floor where it exits to underneath the bus (the brake light switch wiring goes out the same hole). It then runs to the rear/left above the beam (my 69 DC has a holder for it in the chassis) and goes towards the left side spindle. If you crawl...

    Stalling !

I'm going to take a swipe in the dark here, but I think you are actually running a H30/31 PICT rather than a 34PICT/3. Best way to tell is read the left side of the float bowl...it should have the carb numbers right there. Either way, here's a side by side comparision...H30/31 PICT on left...

    Which kind of oil.

Shell Rotella 20w-50 for me....good amount of zinc to help reduce the amount of wear in the bearings.

    Weber 34ICTs

The FRD's that I'm holding onto were last overhauled about 8 years ago...I figure it could also be determined by how well you maintain them. A clean engine compartment always helps when it comes to grime build-up. There is an ebay user with the name "alfa" something...I can't remember it...

    Weber 34ICTs

Speedwell, I would start thinking about buying in bulk for the FRD's because rumor has it that the bits for the baby dells are starting to dry up. CB has had them for years, but the rekindled popularity has made it tougher to find some of the items. I have a pair that I'm holding on to and...

    Early Bay Differences

You may be correct about the long plastic rear view stem...so essentially the Europeans 68-69 early bays had the long chrome rear view stems?

For example...my friend Nick's mid-68 Deluxe. Notice the fuel tank behind the fan shroud.

    Early Bay Differences

I'm curious to know if there were differences in the European and US markets...I looked at over a dozen early and late 68's this past weekend (panels, deluxes, westies) and none of them had a firewall to hide the fuel tank. Inquiring minds want to know more about this... :)
