New inlet manifold fitted with new manifold boots and steel gaskets at the cylinder head ends.....I shall re-ajust the points tonight,it was a new dissy with points/condensor fitted,the gap looked ok but i shall check and try again....cheers folks. :D

Ok 1600 twin port....new carb,inlet manifold,fuel pump,plugs,009 dissy,fuel piping,fuel filter,tank out and cleaned,new gauze filter in tank,15 litres clean fuel......Engine starts on turn of key runs ok-ish from cold revs great....go and take it out on the road drives ok good...

Not to my knowledge....just got the bus from the states the other week.....replaced all the ususal service items...plugs,points,cap,rotor,condensor,set valve clearences etc.....still ran shitty,lumpy.....put the strobe on it no1 cylinder right rear as you look into the engine bay.....it must of...

I kinda understand what your saying....but if the dizzy drive isnt at 90 degrees....it throws out the strobe by miles......no way of setting it properly to 5 degrees after tdc with vac hoses on.....proper head scratcher....

Hi peeps...having problems with my dizzy drive engine 1600 AE.....whilst firing on no1 cylinder with the timming mark at tdc....the dizzy drive should be at 90 degrees to the engine casing....but mine isnt....i can take it out and can only get to to either 20 past ot 10 too if that makes...

Yeah my 69 westy has this feature too its a usa import,although the black plastic bit is missing.
