I would say your compressor is not man enough because it is all right having lot's of air storage or long pipe's but if the pump isn't up to the job it will be running all the time and will put extra stress on the compressor, so you need to either get a bigger compressor or move it a hell of...

as long as it reads right when you dip it, it is ok as when the engine is running the oil is being sloshed about so it will look higher than normal until you wipe it hope that makes sense :D
