1641 barrels 1600 heads??

Is it possible to fit 1641 barrels to a 1600 crankcase and 1600 heads with no snags??? want to satisfy my curiosity :roll:

Yes, they just slide right in there. You can go up to 1679cc on stock case, crank and heads but the barrels are getting way too thin for my liking.

Thanks guys, might give that a go, it seems to me most vw engines fail with the bottom end breaking up, so i may risk the thinner barrels.

I wouldnt go for 1641 myself in a bus. Life is shortened through weight/power ratio as the engine will run hot and the barrels may warp quicker.

1641 is fine in a bay. My mate had a 1679 and it was pissing oil within days.
