This is an uber cool, very early bay window walkthrough panel van. Built on 8th August 1967 and is number 002393, this van is a true survivor. It is a Euro spec model, so it has no reversing lights and the speedo is in km/h, it was originally supplied in Germany and brought over to the USA in the early 70's where it has spent the majority of it long life in California. It has a date stamped service tag in the door shut from a volkswagen dealer in Sacramento dated 1973.

It still retains alot of its one year only (68 model year) features such as one year only speedo, dash strip, doors, and handles etc.

The side panels are good and fairly straight for a van that looks to have seen alot of action and the roof is tiptop, the dash is complete with it's one year only speedo and dash strip and the gearbox is present. The chassis rails are solid and the van retains it's early front and rear bumpers.

Being a panel van it has had a hard working life and does carry the odd small bump or bruise and will need a fair amount of work to bring it back to life.

The cargo floor although solid has carried alot of weight, it will need a screen repair to the front, sills, cab floor repair and a battery tray, It will also need a patch to the LHS internal 'b' pillar. The van does also have rust in the lower inner and outer front valance and would benefit from a new pair of front arches or just repair them. It will need some outrigger and jacking point work. The van will need a replacement tailgate and repairs to the LHS cab door skin, it would also benefit from a new front beam. The slider has been changed for a window version at some point in it's life.

Currently a blank canvas for any kind of project, this van is the perfect candidate for a rat runner, or a full on custom job or stock resto, the van currently has no engine but a gearbox is present.

Price: £2,995 as is inc. VAT

or we can supply the van with a replacement tailgate, front beam, reclaimed arches, screen repair section, panelvan sliding door and rear valance for:

£3,755 inc. VAT.
