Hi folks, for sale is this lovley very early bay with an original Devon interior, inc cooker and all the cushions are original too. The original clip in table is present too. The rear seat pulls out to make a comfy double bed. There's lots of storage cupboards and drawers. It still has the original spare wheel cover too. The bus also has the very rare two tone brown interior panels.
A genuine '68 with all the correct '68 only parts, eg long stemmed metal rear view mirror, correct cab doors, etc.
We have just had it painted a couple of months ago in its original colour of Savannah Beige with white roof. New window rubbers were used during its re-fit. (still needs a sliding door seal). It had new indicators inc seals and new rear red lenses inc seals. The front badge is new too. The bumpers were refurbed with the front bumper steps having new rubbers fitted. The front cab doors have opening quarterlights to let the cool breeze in when cruising(now that summers finally here!) The passenger side could do with the glass replacing.
Mechanically, it has a 1600 motor with 009 dizzy, heat exchangers and exhaust are sound. She is lowered and still retains a nice ride. Most of the braking system was renewed last year for its mot. it has a new clutch. Front tyres are brand new. Leisure battery fitted.
When we got it, we had all the welding done, cills, outriggers, sliding door, windscreen scuttle, wheel arches all the usual things and to seal it all we have had new bellypans fitted (these are removable so you can keep an eye on the rustproofing)
Mot till April 6th 2010, tax exempt too!
All in all a very sound, smart bus ready to use and only for sale due to the purchase of a T25 Karmann Gipsy.
