It's a 1968 singlecab with standard 68 specs, standard engine and gearbox.
Originally delivered to the swedish airforce, Nothern sweden according to M-plate, imported, MOT'ed and registered in Denmark june 2008, still in traffic.
Restored in Sweden a number of years ago, since the used as hobbycar in the summermonths both by previous owner and myself.
Not a show winner but a fun and rare classic workhorse in good running condition, including dings and dongs, wear and tear, a bit of rustspots here and there and the tailgate have definately seen better days ;-)
The good stuff:
-Healthy engine (Original VW-replacement swap, code B 1600)
-Healthy gearbox
-Body in whole and sound condition, a bit of minor rustspots and wear that needs attention though.
-Overhauled brakes proffesionally when the car was imported 3 years ago, been running 9000 km. since then.
-Last weekend she recieved an oil change, valvecheck and greasing of the front end, ready to be enjoyed for the summer!
The bad bits:
-Gearchange a bit loose, needs new bushes in the change mechanism, the box itself is in good condition though, with gearoil changed last year!
-Weatherstrips in the doors needs replacement, water comes in at the doorbottoms when driving in rain.
-Tailgate needs replacement, Included in sale is another one that needs to be restored but is in better condition than the one on the car.
-The truckbed/floor is repaired with an aluminium plate, does the trick but can be restored back to original with panels from wolfburgwest, klassikfab or others (crossmembers for the truckbed still there under the aluminiumplate)
All in all a ready-to-go singlecab earlybay in a solid reasonable condition ready to be enjoyed. Can be seen, tried, tested and bought in Copenhagen, Denmark for £7000. I will drive the car to UK, germany, sweden, norway for £7500.
