Fully cavity waxed and underbody sealed with Dinitrol 3125 Corromax & 4941 Underbody Seal
Tiny amount of welding done ever (one 50p sized and one 2inch sq)
Excellent genuine VW wing mirrors
Alloy side step (poss original?)
Rear indicators wired into reversing lights in order to keep all red US spec rear light units

Engine:
New genuine vw mexico 1600TP with the following- New Weber 34 ICT’s mated to EMPI manifolds and CSP swivel linkage.
All new ancillaries except for dynamo which is fine. So that’s fuel pump, oil cooler, genuine bosch svda vacuum dizzy, bosch blue coil, bosch leads, Scat degreed pulley etc
New fuel lines throughout.
Full stainless exhaust (4into1 header and single quiet pack from Bluebird Customs
New gearbox fluid
New eurothene gear linkage bush at rear
Firetec automatic fire extinguiser system in engine bay
New battery
New clutch & release bearing
Suspension / brakes / wheels
New rear wheel bearings
Complete brake rebuild on rear with new drums, cylinders, shoes etc
CSP 14†disk brake kit on the front (cost a small fortune!)
New fluid throughout
Dual circuit master cylinder
New flexi hoses throughout
Cut & turned beam
Adjustable Creative Engineering springplates
Spax fully adjustable ‘Crypton’ Shocks all round (also cost a small fortune!)
Continental EcoContact Tyres all round (less than 1500 miles)
Comes with the stock spare on the front (USA whitewall!) but also a spare in the rear with a 185/65/14 tyre so will fit all 4 corners. Both tyres are brand new and never used.
Not so good points due to age:
Poptop canvass large zip is broken but pinned up so works fine.
2 stone chips on windscreen but not MOT fail-able
Suspension ‘squeeks’ at the rear I think due to new rubber bushes at the moment…can’t seem to track down the exact place!
Watertank has a leak but is easily fixed with silicone (may have time to do)
Both front doors have rust but a skin should suffice
Drivers step is rusty and has a hole in it
Rear corner passenger side is bubbling up due to filler work as previous owner reversed into a low fence post on his drive (needs re-doing or cutting out)
I have been quoted by Gavin at ‘South Coast Customs’ who builds show cars to a very high standard £500 - £600 to sort out the above rusty areas
The odd bit here and there of tiny surface rust but nothing serious and no holes
There is no stereo although there is the wiring there in the glovebox (power & ariel).
This is an honest description of my camper. It has a vw club valuation of 11K.
