Hello I am new to the site, I hale from Oregon in the USA getting ready to sell my latest project of the last 2 years and am having trouble coming up with a value. I was told the members on this site were the ones to ask so here I am.
Below is a link to my forum on the Samba about this truck it contains many pictures.
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=507760" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The truck originally shipped to San Francisco and was owned by Mezzetti Volkswagen in Fremont till they closed in 1986 then it was sold to a local machine shop, then to a carpenter who later moved up here to Oregon, then parked it in his garden after blowing the engine back in 1998 which is where I found it.
It has been a lot of work getting it back to a fun, reliable daily driver and is a great truck, however it is time to pass it on to someone who will put it in their collection and enjoy it.
It is thought to possibly be the only dealer logod bay doublecab in the US.... not sure none have been spotted or reported.
Anyway as to rust yes it has some in the front floor and the bottom of drivers door, the rockers and the surface of the bed. The right rear corner was reworked at some point, and I just had the rust under the windshield fixed and the nose straightened out, new windshield, seal and shiny VW emblem put back on it.
Please take the time and check it out and give me any feedback as to value in US dollars
Thanks for your time,
Matt

WOW I love that. Make a lovely partner for my 69 Westy serviced by Mezzettis and bought off Conrad.

As to the value I know what Id like to pay but guessing its way off what sayone else is prepared to pay. You dont see many double cabs.
More knowledgable folks than me on here for estimates.

Lee

Thanks Lee, you bought a bus from Conrad? here in Roseburg? I remember him having one that was serviced at Mezzetti, cool!
Yep someone will be glad to have it.
Matt

Welcome,

The old adage is true, its worth what someone will pay for it ;)

Also depends how quick a sale you want,

$8000 to $12000 judging by adverts for double cabs on the samba.com

Agree. Probably worth a little more over here but you guys seem to have lots of pickups over there. Good luck with the sale.
