I thought theyd be too cramped, with kids, after a bay, but if you get a flip-seat one they are great inside. I was drooling over a couple at the 'fest.
Good luck :)

We are doing it the other way round. Had the split and need more space with 2 kids so a bay is the obvious route.

Bays are more family friendly in my eyes. A simple thing such as rear seatbelt mounts, IRS etc................

I ended up doing these on mine and it cost a small fortune. Also the rear seatbelt mounts were very hard to locate in a suitable position and only suitable for toddlers really.

If i were you before you jump in feet first I'd spend some time making sure the space in a split worked for you and you're family.

It would be a shame if you sold such a nice van and then realised you made a mistake.

Cool bus mate I love it...How dya find the rear Safari window? does it let more air in? Me & mrs are cookin in the van on a summer morning so I was thinkin of getting one..Andy

Creative Engineering do them as the rear cargo door window is the same size as the late Split Screen.

the trouble with a rear safari is if youve got them open when you drive along then they let exhaust fumes in the van .But ther great for kamping and let a good strong airflow in at nite to cool ya down

OK, i have talked her indoors round. She is all excited about retrimming the whole of the interior for next year so the van is staying! :D
I can also get the big motor i have been hankering after

As you guys have said, it makes sence with 3 kids too  Perhaps one day when they have left home.....

Glad your wife saw the light - one wicked van and will be even more
so with the retrim will be even more blingin' 8)

Result for the forum I believe :D

I saw it bank holiday monday on fistral beach car parkin the flesh for the first time and was gonna say hello but saw you running towards the blue stuff with this pointy sorta thing under your arm

great to see you aren`t letting it go!!!

Good news Daz glad you are keeping the van .I said hello to you at Vanfest but didnt get to see your cool bus , so will hopefully catch up with you at a show soon dude 8)

If my van turns out anything like yours I'll be happy...........very happy :D :D :D

I honestly believe you have made the right choice. I was supprised that you put it up for sale as i spoke to you at Vanfest on the Satuday during the line up.

I was with my wife and two very young children and we were discussing how family friendly an SO69 Westy was for a family and the next thing you were thinking of going backwards and buying a split.

Great News......

Cheers all :D

Alzy - you should have said HI! OK, i prob looked a bit scary!

Grazy -Hope to catch up at the Earlybay meet dude :p

Wibbler - You will get there my son, De-Lux hey!

Kempy - Was never my idea, i can't belive she was so hell bent on a split. But as Clem said, some of those so42's were looking very very nice :?
