Built on 14 June 1971. Collected by original owners from Germany as part of the US Tourist delivery program. Toured Europe before being taken home to Reno, Arizona where is spent most of its life before being personally imported by me to the UK in 2008.
Vehicle has the complete Westfalia Campmobile interior including, double bed, cab bunk, roof bunk, stool, wardrobe, fridge/sink unit and rear hatch mosquito net.
I have owned the bus 7 years and covered approximately 5,000 miles. Hey, I live in Devon and don't need to go far to have great camping! I have just completed a 500 mile trip to Stanford Hall and 400 mile trip to the Isle of Wight with no problems and would be happy to drive this bus anywhere.
Previous owner was very methodical bringing the bus back to the road (though he never actually drove it on the road before selling it to me!!!) and had gone thru all mechanical parts of the bus, this includes:
New engine
New gearbox
New brake servo
New brake callipers/pads
New rear brakes
New tires including spare which has never been used.
New gear cogs in wind-up windows (yes really, if it could be overhauled it was!)
Paint is in good condition and polishes up well. A full respray could double value of bus.
Light wiring converted to UK Spec. With NOS taillight lens housings and NOS lenses.
New Wolfsburg West pop top tent fitted by Ron at VW Endangered Species
Correct early Westfalia tow bar with electrics for towing
Recently wax oiled as original factory coating had started to peel!
Complete set of original late Westy curtains.
Rear wheel well cushion extender to widen double bed.
Early bay delux clock.
Full working heating
Recent service and tune by local VW Specialist.
Folder of receipts including import papers etc.
Original US blue number plate.
I have added a few pics but can take any that are needed.
