Right all...

I have a hi-po 2110 in my bus but the 3 rib just isn't up to the job. 1 I can't launch or race because it will just explode but the main thing is at 70mph I'm doing 4000 rpm which with twin 48's and a mondo exhaust is very loud and although it a nice loud it does get a bit much on a long run. Plus the fuel consumption isn't brilliant.

I have a chance for a 5 rib box but I wanna know how much lower the revs would be at cruising speed.

Cheers

Karlos

Your right, with a 2110 you will be better off with the 2 liter gearbox.

I posted the ratios on this thread a while back http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=52810&hilit=gearbox+ratios" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As you will see, the overall gearing is governed by the crown wheel and pinion since the individual gears are much the same.

Hi karlos
I got my 3 rib ring and pinion and 4 gear changed for my 1914 which done the job. Not sure if it will be strong enough for your engine though. I got a firm in hundon Suffolk to do it if you want their info?

Get a Porsche 5 speed 'box - possibly a 915 given the power you've got... ;)
