68 driveshaft hub nut query

Hi I've just knackered the tip of my rear driveshaft thread and can't get the nut started does anyone know what the thread is so I can buy a die nut to sort it out

I would try a thread file first,it would proberly be cheaper to get anouther stub axle than buy a die that size :shock:

Ok thanks, i have the advantage of working at a local engine plant so will be able to borrow one if i know the size ??? i'm guessiing the pitch is 1.5?? some guru must know :roll:

I don't know the size, but if all the kit is available at your work, why not take the nut in and see which tap suits it. Then you'll know which die you need.

Hmm the thread of the nut is knackered too so I thought it might be difficult to get a match. I'll have to measure the diameter with a set of Verniers perhaps that will give me a clue. Thanks for the replies tho
