1971 ( early baywindow-tax exempt) Deluxe T2 VW Campervan.

For sale is a vw camper which I have owned for 6yrs. The van has been very well maintained and is in excellent condition. Imported and restored by VW Evolution ( VW Specialists in Wiltshire) from Australia having been used as an airport bus in Melbourne up to 2005. The van was professionally-'sensibly' lowered by another VW specialist. The van was then professionally converted for use as a camper by the present owner.

The important bits!
Asking price £8,750. Or very close offers.
Mot. until mid Mar. 2012

Reason for sale, upgrading to a motor home.
Current speedo reading 33100. I would think that maybe a 1 would need to be added to the start of that figure!!!

Chassis is rust free and undersealed when it was imported. Also Waxoiled to inner panels.
The bottom half ( red section) has been restored last year as it had faded and a few dings and superficial spots of rust appeared after exposure to 5 yrs in summer weather.
New engine fitted May 2005-covered 16k miles on new engine. New clutch fitted at the same time.
New 2009, BRM alloy wheels and tyres fitted.

Boring bits!
New heat exchangers, exhaust, Carb, top/bot steering swivels and other steering joints, all brake hoses and whl' cylinders, rear wheel bearings and one CV joint replaced during last 5 yrs............. and lots of other less important parts since.

Interior.
Converted from a Microbus in 2005 to a camper with all new interior fittings which still look new. A 3/4 rock'n roll bed, sink, and 2 burner gas hob, auxillary 12v system and 240v mains hook-up are fitted. The front seats, front door panels and other side panels were reupholstered to match bed and interior etc. Although not shown, there's a removable table that clips to the sliding rail.

Other info.
The van starts and drives well and although stored in a heated garage over winter, it's taken out and used on regular occasions.
It comes ready to go camping, including 240v lead, ramps and watertank etc. I have a 3 yr old high quality (frame sectional ) drive-away awning which I can offer at £70 if required. This has had very little use and includes an environmentally friendly groundsheet.

Notes. The rubber seals on some of the side windows would benefit from replacement in the near future. Other than that, this really is a very nicely presented example of this type of vehicle. Whilst the vehice is in France at the moment, I can deliver to the UK.

Feel free to ask any questions and request more photos. My email is: [email protected]. Tel. 0033 6 77 31 80 35.

Thank you James for taking the trouble to pass this information over to whoever may be interested in this van.

Take care.

Best wishes,
Dave and Lyn.
