My Nov 1970 ('71 model) westy is up for sale.

US model early bay imported last year as a totally original, never welded bus. Totally stripped and refurbished by me retaining the original interior and cool sunbleached OG paint. Used lots this year for trips all over the UK. Completely reliable with no work at all left to do. Cool OG bus or perfect paint candidate - you choose! Bus is in Somerset.

From The Samba ad -

Body: While completely stripped out it had both new outer sills, new battery tray and a tiny patch in the cab floor. The underside was completely solid so I cleaned it up and etch primed it for a bit more protection. Everything waxed up for protection from the elements. All new window rubbers when refitting. All new roof rubbers. New C&C quality roof canvas supplied as original is tatty.

Mechanical: Original 1600tp motor fully serviced with all new plugs, leads, etc. New EMPI single quiet pack. New Electronic ignition. New Alternator conversion. Brakes completely gone through with all new brakes up front. '71 model so Servo & disk brakes making it a dream to drive. Lowered on creative adjusters in the front beam, two splines out back and new shocks.

Interior: Completely stripped out and refurbished retaining all original features including westy stool, ice box, buddy seat, etc, etc. Slightly worn with a few rips in the seats as I didn't want to recover anything with new. All woodwork refurbished including new Birch Ply headlining & side panels. Interior waxed and fully insulated prior to refitting interior. New curtains including cab. Only missing rear mosquito net and cab bunk.

Very cool looking original paint bus in exceptionally solid condition. Tax & MOT.

£10500 for a quick sale! This bus is so solid it needs to be seen to be believed. A completed, very cool, drive away & do nothing early westy for just a few grand more than a project bus!!! Surely a good deal!!
